Kwikpay Brings New Perspective On Cashless Solutions To ACOS

No visitor to ACOS 2019 could be in any doubt that the UK amusements and coin-op industries are taking the cashless payment revolution very seriously indeed. With cashless transactions now accounting for up to 60% of revenues in some bars and leisure venues, forward-looking operators and site owners are keen to ensure that they are well equipped for this fundamental shift in consumer behaviour

For Neeraj Bhatia, Founder & CEO of UK based Kwikpay, exhibiting at ACOS 2019 has been a logical step: “Since exhibiting at EAG earlier this year we’ve already had some great results in the coin-op and amusements sectors. We found ACOS to be an intimate event that’s focused on customers with specific needs. The show certainly reached our target audience and we’ve had a phenomenal response,” confirms Neeraj.

Kwikpay was launched a little over four years ago and is now an established cashless payment provider for vending, electric vehicle charging, food and beverage, and mobile top-ups on all the main networks. The company has a strong focus on the UK and is also active in The Netherlands and Asia.

Neeraj explains the decision to enter the amusements sector: “We looked at what was happening in this market and we felt that we could leverage our existing skills to really make a difference. This sector is characterised by much legacy technology and infrastructure and it’s in an environment where coin use is diminishing. At Kwikpay we work with operators, applying a different perspective to ensure our technology delivers quantifiable benefit.”

Kwikpay have closely studied the operating environment to develop an app-based solution centred on the customers smartphone or other device. The individual game is identified by a simple QR code on the front of the cabinet.

The company has been keen to minimise the cost of change to the operator. One contactless reader, sitting outside the machine can handle multiple machines and no external modification is required to individual cabinets.

Mindful that for many operators cashless will be an evolution rather than a revolution, the Kwikpay system can work alongside a traditional cash option.

Neeraj is keen to point out that the system not only replaces cash but is an income driver: “The inherent flexibility in the system allows peak and off-peak pricing, driving footfall during quieter periods and enabling individual promotions.

“The system has the capability of collecting loyalty & reward points, so can be employed for prize redemption at a counter, or even later via the venue’s website. For those wishing to manage their play, cash and time parameters may also be set.

“The operator is empowered with a large amount of business intelligence, including machine sales reports, cash collection reports for each machine, transaction histories and real time downtime alerts. These reports are presented on an easy-to-read dashboard and may be customised to the individual operator’s requirements,” reveals Neeraj.

The Kwikpay platform is also the first to deliver multiple services, meaning that it can be used to make payments throughout a venue, from car parking to vending and anything else that would normally be paid for by cash or card.

Kwikpay has earned an early endorsement from one of the UK amusements industry’s most iconic companies after installation at a Harry Levy arcade. Matthew Deith, director at Harry Levy, commented: "Kwikpay is offering a complete platform for the amusement industry to go digital; this felt like an essential partnership. Kwikpay has enabled 50-plus machines and we are excited to see customer engagement and to use their management tools. Personally, I am amazed at the speed at which any of our amusement games can be started through the Kwikpay app.”

Kwikpay has already committed to exhibiting at EAG International, taking place at ExCeL London from 14th-16th January 2020.
